Serta Mattress Review

If you’ve ever used an uncomfortable mattress, you probably know that sleeping on one can make you feel restless all through the night, limiting how much restorative sleep you get.

Choosing the right mattress might feel overwhelming, considering there are many options on the market, and the standard mattress should support your sleep needs for six to eight years. Purchasing a mattress from a brand that’s served thousands of customers for decades, like Serta, might be a good choice.

This review looks at Serta’s collection of mattresses, helping you decide if one is right for you.

What Sleep Experts Say

“Having the right bedroom environment is a key component of good sleep hygiene,” says Carlos M. Nunez, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, ResMed, a cloud-connected medical device company. “This optimal environment should include elements such as a well-built and comfortable mattress, an ideal temperature (between 60 and 71 degrees Fahrenheit), good air quality and minimal distractions.”

In addition, the CDC mentions that a way to support sleep health is to keep your bedroom “quiet, dark, relaxing and at a comfortable temperature.”

Fortunately, all Serta mattresses feature cooling technologies, which reduce the tendency of foam mattress surfaces to retain heat, according to David Greenwald, M.D., a neurosurgeon and co-founder of Comprehensive MD. Tracy Hannigan, a U.K.-based sleep coach, adds that people prone to sleeping hot may benefit from using cooling mattresses to keep them cooler and support their sleep quality. These groups include:

  • Physically larger people
  • People who sleep on their stomach
  • People with certain medical conditions
  • Women in the menopausal years

Dr. Martin Kinsella, founder of BioID Hormones, affirms this recommendation by adding that people who experience hot flashes (which can be worse at night) due to hormone changes caused by lifestyle factors like stress, diet or exercise may benefit from a cooling mattress to reduce body temperature and aid sleep quality and quantity.

What Users Say

Serta isn’t Better Business Bureau (BBB) accredited and has an F rating on the site, which represents the organization’s view of Serta’s interaction with its customers.
