About Nectar

Nectar Sleep has been around since 2016 and is known for its memory foam mattresses, especially the popular Nectar Memory Foam option. Made of layers of high-quality memory foam, their mattresses offer a medium firmness that is ideal for side and back sleepers. The company also advertises that their mattresses are great for people seeking back pain relief.

Nectar Memory Foam Mattress Options and Prices

The company is known for its best-selling Memory Foam model, but since 2017, has added two other mattress options that offer more upgraded features than the original, including the Nectar Premier Memory Foam and the Nectar Premier Copper mattress.

For a queen size, the Premier costs $1,199 and the Premier Copper is $1,599. The original Nectar Memory Foam, at $799 is a more budget-friendly option.

Nectar Memory Foam Mattress

The Nectar Memory Foam starts with a quilted cool cover made of a breathable poly-blend material that features cooling and heat-wicking technology. Below, the mattress uses three layers of memory foam including two inches of gel-infused memory foam for pressure relief, 4 inches of dynamic response foam for support and bounce and 6 inches of conventional foam for structure. Finally, it finishes up with a bottom cover that is slip and slide-resistant.

Customization Options and Special Features

You can upgrade the Nectar Memory Foam mattress by adding NectarCool Technology for $99. This adds the NectarCool Extra Cooling Cover, made of patented materials designed to help regulate temperature for additional cooling.

You can also upgrade the original Nectar Memory Foam to the Nectar Premier, a popular upgrade with additional height, cooling and the phase-changing ActiveCool HD material.

While you can’t make this upgrade on the Memory Foam’s product page (users interested in this upgrade must purchase one of the Nectar Premier mattresses), the Nectar Premier Copper is another enhanced model that you can purchase. It’s considered the most superior option at the highest price point, and is the tallest, coolest and most supportive mattress of the bunch.

Apps and Accessories

Nectar might be best-known for its mattresses, but they also sell other sleep products. The company offers a wide array of bed frames, including the foundation, frame and headboard combo, storage bed, adjustable frame, platform bed, foldable metal frame, as well as the Trenton metal frame, Millburn metal frame, Claremont bed frame and Aurora bed frame.

Nectar also makes various bedding products meant to be used alongside their mattresses. These include the Mattress Protector, Sheet Set, Duvet, Duvet Cover Set, Serenity Sleep Weighted Blanket, Resident Serenity Sleep Bundle, Resident Serenity Quilt, Resident Pillow, Graphite Pillow and the Premier Copper Pillow.

Warranties and Discounts

Nectar claims to be the first company to offer a 365-night trial which applies to all three of their mattress options. The company’s mattresses are also covered by the brand’s Forever Warranty, which lasts as long as you own and use the mattress. This covers deterioration that causes the mattress to have a visible indentation greater than 1-and-a-half inches that was not caused by an improper or unsupportive foundation or bed base, any physical flaw in the mattress and any manufacturing defect.

The Forever Warranty does not cover any product that has the cover removed, damage due to environmental causes, anything that has clearly been subjected to misuse or neglect, a normal increase in softness of the foam, comfort preference, defects caused by physical abuse and mattresses that were not purchased by Nectar firsthand.

If you need to use the Forever Warranty, your mattress will be replaced with a brand new one of equal or greater value at no charge for the first 10 years. After that period, Nectar will completely repair and re-cover the mattress or replace it at their discretion, with a $50 transportation cost.

What Users Say

The Nectar Memory Foam mattress appears to have pretty good reviews online, with over 44,000 positive reviews on their website. Positive reviews rave about the comfort, firmness and ease of buying and setting up.

Many reviewers note that the mattress has been great for their back pain and has left them feeling more comfortable and waking up with less pain. One reviewer on Nectar’s website, who describes themselves as “a restless, hot side sleeper with chronic back pain” wrote, “I wasn’t sure if any mattress could be comfortable for me, but for the few months we’ve had our Nectar, I’ve been sleeping like a baby. I fall asleep easier and I stay asleep better. Aches and pains don’t seem to be made worse by my mattress either, and the pillows they sent are maybe my favorite pillows I’ve ever owned. Love it!.”

Nectar has a 3.9 out of 5 star rating on ConsumerAffairs based on 373 ratings submitted in the past year. Most of Nectar’s negative reviews on the site include complaints about customer service received, especially concerning the 365-night trial and the Forever Warranty. Many unhappy customers complained that they were not able to return their mattresses within the 365-night trial or the Forever Warranty and were unable to get the company to respond to them. Some also complained about the cooling features of the mattress and said it was too hot.

Nectar has a 1.16 out of 5 star rating from the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and they are not BBB accredited. One unhappy reviewer wrote on BBB that after a few months of use, she and her husband “sink into the mattress so we bad we can feel the metal bars on our backs,” adding that “it’s causing us so much pain at night” that they can’t sleep and often end up on the couch. They contacted Nectar for a refund and said, “I’ve been told we will not be given a refund even though their website says we have 365 days or we can get a refund if we don’t love it.”

Trustpilot reviews are largely negative, with most complaints about customer service. Many reviewers say that they were unhappy with the mattress and found it uncomfortable and even painful to sleep on. When they try to contact customer service, it’s difficult to get in touch with anyone to receive the promised refund. “Sent me a defective mattress and then wasted an hour of my time on the phone trying to get a replacement,” one reviewer wrote. “They claim they didn’t receive the photos I sent them of the defect (mattress has barely expanded after five days). They say they’ll call me back but haven’t. I’m a disabled veteran with two blown discs awaiting back surgery and have had nowhere to sleep for five days now.”

Who Should Purchase a Nectar Memory Foam Mattress?

Nectar describes the Memory Foam mattress as a good pick no matter your sleeping position, as well as a nice reliever for back pain thanks to its pressure-relieving qualities. This mattress will likely suit anyone who enjoys a mattress that offers a medium-firm feel and provides the cradling, hug-like feeling of memory foam.

Unlike many memory foam mattresses, Nectar claims the Memory Foam model sleeps breathable and cool thanks to its gel-infused memory foam layer and cooling cover. Being under $1,000 for a queen, it may also be of interest for budget shoppers looking for a quality and affordable mattress.
